Well, not quite new, but we built these into our shop at the beginning of last year. Previously, our building only had one small shared office space, two bathrooms, and a store room. Hard for a family to work in with any kind of privacy for phone calls or sit downs with customers!

We started by building off the old office section - adding 12' feet out into the shop, and running 30' from wall to wall (or, soon to be wall to wall, anyway...)
We worked with a great team of local builders who've been friends of our family for decades - they did a great job taking my rough drawings and floor plans and bringing it to life in our shop!

You can see the old flooring versus the new - we literally doubled the upstairs space, which previously had just been a storage loft for old boxes of files and documents.

Ended up with four new rooms - a main living room area, two 12' x 12' individual offices, and a large storage room across the back wall. We'd have utilized this space for additional officers if we could, but as our building has fire sprinklers installed, the water main was just too low to utilize it properly, so it was walled off and now holds lots of extra office supplies and furniture.

We installed matching cabinets and counters upstairs and downstairs, and have a sink in both areas now. Check out our next post, our shop tour, to see some of the finished photos of our new office space, as well as our shop floor!
